DE MARTINO
In 1998 we embarked on a pioneering project: to convert our traditional agriculture into being 100% organic. We made this decision based on various factors, the most important of which being the respect and care that we have for nature to ensure that in the future we are able to continue producing the same quality of fruit that we produce today.
Two years later, we received certification from the German company BCS Öko-Garantie GMBH and in 2001 we had our first harvest of organic grapes to be used in the production of organic wines.
Currently we are the second largest producer of organic wines in Chile.
Continuing with this pioneering project, in 2007 we were audited by The Carbon Reduction Institute represented in Chile by Green Solutions in order to measure all of our carbon emissions. From that point, we implemented various sustainable practices aimed at reducing said emissions, such as the Water Treatment Plant, a project which allowed us to become the first winery in the world to generate carbon bonds.
Finally, in 2009 we reaffirmed our position as leaders in sustainability with two feats: we launched the first carbon-neutral wine in Latin America Nuevo Mundo and Viña De Martino became the first carbon-neutral winery in Latin America.

Our winery was founded in 1934 by Pietro De Martino, who arrived in Chile in search of a place to satisfy his passion for winemaking.
Our vineyards now stand on one of the former branches of the river, which lends the soil characteristics that are unique in the valley and particularly good for grape production.
The third and fourth generations of the De Martino family now work in the winery every day. Today, more than 80 years after it began, the winery maintains its dynamism, family tradition, and the adventurous, pioneering spirit of the De Martino family.
